There are many questions about the differences between the Brine and Warrior Amontes so here's a little history and some facts. Over the past few years New Balance Athletic Co. purchased both Warrior and Brine Lacrosse Companies and in the summer of 2008 decided to eliminate the women's lacrosse product line from the Warrior side and incorporate many Warrior products into the Brine Women's Lacrosse line. The most popular of the Warrior products was the Amonte. So the Warrior Amonte is now the Brine Amonte.
There were two slight design "difficulties" with the Warrior Amonte. First the throat of the head where it fit onto the shaft was just slightly small resulting in many players having to "force" their shafts on ( especially Harrow shafts) and thus creating a small crack in the back of the head at this point. Secondly there was a row of small holes along the side of the Warrior Amonte that served little purpose but again posed a structural issue where many heads broke. Both of these "problems" were addressed and fixed on the new Brine Amonte.
The actual throwing, catching and shooting aspects of the head have not changed.
Pockets.. at Metro Sport Brokers we custom string all Amontes with deBeer custom pockets. Either Trakker Pro, Gripper or Trigger Pockets.. ( read about pockets here) . We believe these pockets offer a better fit for all players that we can customize to a players skill level and position. We do not ship Amontes with Brine pockets in them.
